Straw Services Australia is currently looking for candidates to fill the position of: Leading Hand – Operations – Goulburn NSW

About the role:

- 40 – 50 hour working week (adaptable)
- Possibility of 4-day week or rolling fortnight with flexi days
- Out of town work (Bombala & Tumbarumba NSW) required for approximately 4 weeks per year as required – all accommodation and travel expenses paid for

Responsibilities:

- Leading a team of 2-4 staff from our Goulburn facility
- Safe operation of plant and machinery
- Excellent communication skills
- Organise, deliver, and spread new litter to poultry farms
- Maintenance and basic servicing of plant and equipment




- Truck driving – loading and unloading trucks, washing and maintenance
- Work in static baling facility
- General property and farm maintenance and duties (fencing, livestock, spraying, moving)
- Basic administrative tasks as required

About you: Working with the Straw Services Australia team out of our Goulburn facility, you will have the following skills and attributes:

- Car License – essential
- HR License - essential
- HC License – desirable. HC license training will be considered for right candidate
- Forklift License – desirable. Forklift license training will be considered for right candidate
- Excellent time management skills
- Thorough and conscientious
- Upholds high standards of work and cleanliness
- Experience operating machinery
- Ability to start between 5:00am – 6:00am when required
- Reliable and responsible
- Team player
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work unsupervised and lead a small team
- Work in a safe manner always
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Ability to work in the intensive animal industry
