The opportunity

We have an exciting part time job share chance available for a Manager Product Stewardship to join the NSW EPA. In this role you will manage multiple units to develop and implement projects and programs, including to deliver product stewardship schemes and services by building strategic partnerships, shaping stakeholder commitment and driving coordinated action that support enhanced environmental sustainability through delivery of state-wide programs.

The current focus of the role is to deliver the expansion of the container deposit scheme to new containers in 2027, and to lead a national project reforming the way container deposit schemes work together across Australia.

About you

The Ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple teams to develop, implement and evaluate product stewardship, behaviour change and environmental sustainability initiatives within scope, budget and timeframes.
- Extensive experience building strategic partnerships and engaging with government, industry, local government, not for profit, community and internal stakeholders to shape commitment,



coordinate action and influence positive environmental outcomes.
- High level advisory and analytical skills, including the ability to provide expert advice, identify emerging issues, assess risks and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
- Sound understanding of state and local government processes, legislative requirements, policy priorities and the practical implementation impacts of environmental programs and initiatives.
- Effective people and resource management skills, with the ability to lead staff, allocate resources, set priorities, monitor performance and foster a productive and collaborative team culture

About the team

The Engagement and Product stewardship branch sits within our Engagement, Digital and Innovation division. The team leads the NSW EPA’s approach to community and stakeholder engagement, delivering key priorities, partnerships and insights and delivers existing product stewardship schemes, including the container deposit scheme and Household Problem Waste services.
