South Yarra, Melbourne | Full-Time | $70,000–$90,000 depending on experience A marketing role where you can do great work and still have a life
Marketing Eye is looking for a Marketing Specialist with 2–3 years' experience to join our team in South Yarra.
You will work directly with clients, manage up to 10 accounts and be involved in the strategy, planning and delivery of marketing programs across industries including technology, contact centre, agriculture, associations and automotive aftersales
.
What makes this role different is how we work.
We believe people do their best work when they have the right systems, clear direction, robust technology and a life outside the office.
Our working week is 38 hours and we are not an agency where overtime is worn as a badge of honour. When you leave the office, we want you to leave work behind. Go home, see friends, exercise, have dinner, travel, switch off. Work should be an important part of your life, not your entire life.
We close the office for approximately two weeks over Christmas each year
, and most Fridays you will find us eating lunch together, whether the boss is cooking or someone has ordered a very good pizza.
It is a professional environment, but it is also human.
About Marketing Eye
Marketing Eye is a marketing consultancy that has spent years developing a better way for marketers to work with clients.
We are strategy first
.
Before activity starts, we want to know where a client is going, what they are trying to achieve, who they need to reach and what marketing needs to do to help them get there.
From there, systems, processes and technology make execution considerably easier.
We have deliberately built technology around many of the manual tasks that traditionally consume a marketer's day. The aim is not to replace marketers. It is to give them more time to think, create, communicate and add value.
A graduate joining Marketing Eye can manage responsibilities that might take someone several years to reach elsewhere because the way we work provides structure, visibility and support around every client account.
For someone with 2–3 years' experience, that means you can move much faster.
You will work with Robotic Marketer A major part of the role is working with Robotic Marketer
, our AI-powered marketing operations platform.
Robotic Marketer brings together marketing strategy, campaign planning, content, calendars, CRM, workflows, reporting and performance intelligence.
It uses AI, data science, machine learning and business intelligence to reduce manual marketing work and provide marketers with greater clarity around what needs to happen next.
Instead of spending hours building spreadsheets, chasing tasks, reconstructing campaign plans or manually pulling together information, much of that infrastructure is already there.
That allows you to spend more time on the parts of marketing that matter most: understanding the client, thinking strategically, generating ideas, communicating well and making better marketing decisions.
Technology powers the process. You still bring the judgement.
The role
You will manage a portfolio of up to 10 clients and become an important part of their marketing team.
This is a genuinely client-facing position.
You will attend meetings, talk through priorities, coordinate marketing activity, present ideas, review performance and make sure agreed work gets done.
From time to time, you will also attend client functions, networking events and industry events. We want you to become comfortable representing both Marketing Eye and the clients you work with.
Your clients may be very different from one another, which is part of what makes the role interesting.
One day you might be working on a technology campaign. The next you could be helping an agricultural organisation communicate with its members, developing a lead generation campaign for a contact centre business or coordinating marketing for an automotive aftermarket company.
What you will be responsible for
- Managing the day-to-day marketing requirements of up to 10 clients
- Building strong, professional relationships with clients
- Understanding each client's business objectives, audiences and priorities
- Working from a defined marketing strategy rather than simply producing disconnected marketing activity
- Turning strategy into practical monthly, weekly and campaign activity
- Coordinating email marketing, social media, content, SEO, digital advertising, lead generation and campaigns
- Writing and reviewing content including emails, social media posts, blogs, landing pages and campaign materials
- Working with Robotic Marketer to manage strategy, campaigns, calendars, reporting and marketing workflows
- Briefing our in-house graphic designers, web developers, SEO specialists and digital advertising specialists
- Keeping projects moving and ensuring client commitments are delivered
- Reviewing performance and identifying ways to improve results
- Preparing client presentations, reports and recommendations
- Attending client meetings, networking functions and industry events when required
- Bringing your own ideas and marketing judgement to the table
Who we are looking for You probably have around 2–3 years' experience in marketing
, either within an agency, consultancy, in-house marketing team or another environment where you have had exposure to multiple areas of marketing.
You don't need to know everything.
You do need to be curious, organised, thoughtful and comfortable talking to people.
You will enjoy this role if you like understanding businesses, solving problems and seeing marketing activity through from idea to execution.
Ideally, you will have:
- 2–3 years' marketing experience
- Strong written communication skills
- Confidence communicating with clients
- Experience across several areas of marketing rather than one narrow specialisation
- A working understanding of social media, email marketing, content, SEO,
digital advertising and lead generation
- Good copywriting skills
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- The ability to manage several priorities without becoming overwhelmed
- An interest in technology and AI
- The confidence to contribute ideas in meetings
- A desire to become a genuinely capable, well-rounded marketer
Experience in technology, B2B, agriculture, associations, contact centre or automotive industries is useful, but not essential. We make the job easier, not harder
Marketing can become unnecessarily complicated when businesses rely on disconnected spreadsheets, emails, documents and manual processes.
We have spent years removing much of that friction.
Our systems tell you what needs to happen. Our processes help you manage clients consistently. Our technology automates repetitive work. Our specialists support you where deeper expertise is required.
This means you are not expected to be a graphic designer, SEO technician, developer, media buyer and account manager all at once.
You manage the relationship and the marketing program. You work with specialists when you need them.
It creates a much better experience for the client and a much better working environment for you.
What working here is actually like
We work hard during working hours.
Then we go home.
We believe in a 38-hour week and do not build our business around employees regularly working late nights or weekends.
We believe people with full lives tend to be better marketers because they have experiences, interests, conversations and perspectives outside work.
So when you walk out the door, we want you to forget about work.
We also believe small things matter.
We close over Christmas for around two weeks each year. We regularly have Friday lunch together. Sometimes the boss cooks. Sometimes pizza wins.
We are a small enough team that people know each other and a sophisticated enough business that you will work with interesting clients, experienced marketers and technology that is changing how marketing is delivered.
Why this could be a very good next step
At this stage of your career, exposure matters.
In this role you will learn how to manage clients, understand businesses, develop marketing strategies, coordinate campaigns, work with specialists, interpret results and communicate with senior decision-makers.
You won't spend the next three years waiting for someone to let you speak in a client meeting.
You will be in the meeting.
And because our systems, processes and technology take care of much of the administrative load, you can concentrate on becoming a better marketer.
Location:
South Yarra, Melbourne
Employment:
Full-Time, 38 hours per week
Salary:
$70,000–$90,000 depending on experience
If you are looking for a marketing role where you can develop quickly, work directly with interesting clients and still have a life outside work, we would love to hear from you.
