Metal Gate Fabricator / Welder

Rocklea QLD | Full time | Monday–Friday | 6:00am–2:00pm Supaguard Fencing is a leading supplier of commercial fencing and gate systems. We are looking for an experienced Metal Gate Fabricator to join our Rocklea fabrication team.

This is a hands-on role manufacturing chainwire and security gates, posts and custom steel assemblies from fabrication drawings.

Pipe bending experience is essential

You must have previous experience bending steel pipe/tube accurately, including setting out bends correctly before bending. Experience bending galvanised pipe, particularly 25NB and 32NB, using hydraulic or similar pipe bending equipment will be highly regarded.

If you are an experienced welder but have never bent pipe as part of fabrication work, this role is unlikely to suit you.

What you'll be doing

- Measure, mark, cut and bend steel pipe accurately
- Fabricate chainwire and security gate frames
- MIG weld steel components and assemblies
- Read and work from fabrication drawings
- Use cold saws, bandsaws,



grinders and fabrication equipment
- Check finished work for correct dimensions and quality
- Work efficiently to daily production targets
- Maintain a clean and safe work area

The position requires strong cutting, welding, fabrication and drawing-reading skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to quality.

What we're looking for

- Proven pipe bending experience – essential
- MIG welding and steel fabrication experience
- Ability to accurately measure, mark out and fabricate from drawings
- Good understanding of steel cutting and preparation
- High attention to detail
- Reliable and productive work ethic
- Strong commitment to safety
- Ability to work well within a small fabrication team
- Forklift licence and trade qualifications advantageous
