Prince of Wales Hospital is a major teaching hospital and tertiary referral centre, delivering high-quality healthcare to communities in South Eastern Sydney and specialist services across New South Wales.

Each year, the hospital’s Emergency Department treats over 60,000 patients, with approximately 50,000 inpatient admissions. Its outpatient and rural outreach services provide more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care annually.

The role The Network Specialist works as part of the Network Communications Team to deliver highly available and fit for purpose networking services.

They contribute to the delivery and maintenance of the Area’s data communications networks in line with applicable standards, policies and strategies.

They support strategic directions of HealthICT, NSW Health, SESLHD and ISLHD.

Selection Criteria

- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience in IT and / or Telecommunications.
- Good understanding of data network concepts and principles.
- Experience installing / configuring network devices including switches and routers.
- Demonstrated ability to work within predefined policy and procedures.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of international data communication standards.
- Demonstrated experience supporting large data networks in a similar capacity.
