Our team is looking for an occupational therapist. As an Occupational Therapist at Irises support services, you will play a vital role in assessing, planning, and delivering therapeutic interventions to help clients achieve greater independence, improve their functional capacity, and enhance their quality of life. Your work will be central to our mission of providing person-centred care and evidence-based rehabilitation services.There’s a great mix of clinic-based, community, rehabilitation and flexible work depending on what you enjoy most.
There will be in office work and visits to home or school settings. Position available for both our Essendon North and Dandenong office locations. Looking for three to five days a week to start.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate clients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial functioning
- Develop individualised treatment plans based on client goals, needs, and rehabilitation objectives
- Deliver therapeutic interventions, including functional activities, adaptive strategies, and environmental modifications
- Provide education and training to clients and their families regarding adaptive techniques and self-management strategies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physiotherapists, support workers, psychologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Monitor and evaluate client progress against established goals, adjusting treatment plans as required
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of assessments, treatment sessions, and client outcomes
- Liaise with external agencies, support services,
and community resources to facilitate client transitions and continuity of care
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice development within the organisation
- Adhere to professional standards, regulatory requirements, and organisational policies and procedures

Key Perks
- Competitive salary ranging from $95,000 - $115,000 depending on experience

What we're looking for
- Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (OTBA) and National Boards of Regulation (AHPRA)
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy from an accredited Australian institution or equivalent international qualification with appropriate recognition
- Demonstrated experience working in rehabilitation, disability support, aged care, or community health settings
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills with the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse client populations
- Proficiency in written documentation and electronic health records systems
- Sound knowledge of occupational therapy evidence-based practices and current rehabilitation methodologies
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple client caseloads effectively
- Commitment to professional development, reflective practice, and continuing education
- Current Working with Children Check (WWC) and National Police Clearance
- Experience in disability support services or working with clients with complex needs is highly desirable
