Assembly Now is a privately owned delivery and assembly business. Providing a premium service to retailers, commercial and private clients, the company is experiencing significant growth. As a result, an exciting opportunity has been created to further support operations across NSW and the ACT.
About the role The Operations Manager role is essential to Assembly Now's ongoing success. You will lead and support the daily activities of the warehouse team and the on-road transport/installation crews within the state. This position involves people leadership, planning, commercial tracking, sales support, customer and equipment management, safety and compliance across a comprehensive logistics operation specialising in high-end furniture delivery and assembly.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, support, and coordinate the daily activities of the warehouse team and on-road transport/installation crews within the state
- Provide transparent direction, task allocation, and performance expectations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members to build capability and consistency
- Manage rostering, attendance, and workforce planning to ensure adequate coverage for daily operations and project requirements
- Conduct regular toolbox talks, safety briefings, and team check-ins to maintain strong communication and alignment
- Plan and optimise daily delivery, installation, and project routes to maximise efficiency, minimise travel time,
and meet client deadlines with the state-based Operations Coordinator
- Monitor vehicle utilisation, job allocation, and driver performance to ensure commercially sound operations
- Track job profitability, fuel usage, labour hours, and other cost drivers to support commercial decision-making
- Act as a key point of contact for state-based clients, providing updates, resolving issues, and ensuring a high-quality customer experience
- Oversee the maintenance, inspection, and readiness of all warehouse equipment, vehicles, tools, and installation gear
About you
- 3+ years experience in Warehouse, Logistics or Project Management
- Demonstrates strong leadership capability, creating clarity, motivation, and accountability across both warehouse and field-based teams
- Applies structured operational thinking to plan, sequence, and coordinate daily workflows in a way that optimises efficiency and service delivery
- Shows commercial acumen by understanding cost drivers, resource utilisation, and the financial impact of operational decisions
- Builds and maintains positive client relationships through clear communication, professionalism, and a solutions-focused mindset
- Responds to operational challenges with sound judgment, resilience, and the ability to make timely, well-reasoned decisions
- Competence in business computing applications
- Access to a motor vehicle for use during work hours
- A current National Police Certificate will be required prior to the commencement of employment
- Forklift licence preferred but not essential
