Payroll and Accounts Payable Officer

Milton, QLD - $75,000 - $80,000 + Super

About the role An established and growing organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll and Accounts Payable Officer to join its Brisbane based finance team. This is an office based position suited to a detail focused skilled who enjoys taking ownership of payroll, accounts payable and broader bookkeeping responsibilities across multiple entities. You will join a cooperative and supportive workplace that values open communication, continuous improvement and practical ideas.

The role offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to build your skills within an expanding finance function.

Key responsibilities

- Process end to end payroll in Xero for approximately 150 to 200 employees across multiple entities, including payroll reviews and superannuation through clearing houses.
- Import and review employee timesheets from Tanda, resolving discrepancies before payroll is finalised.
- Manage accounts payable and accurate credit card reconciliations.
- Complete bank reconciliations and prepare account summary reports across multiple accounts and entities.
- Prepare monthly Instalment Activity Statements and Business Activity Statements for lodgement with the ATO.
- Complete month end journals and contribute to accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with year end workpapers and provide support to the accountant as required.




- Prepare customer payment reports and follow up outstanding accounts.
- Maintain accurate records and meet payroll, payment and reporting deadlines.

About you

- At least three to five years of experience in payroll, bookkeeping or a similar accounting support role.
- Demonstrated multi entity payroll processing experience is essential.
- Experience using payroll platforms such as Tanda, Employment Hero or Deputy.
- Strong understanding of Health, Nurses and Pharmacy Award rates and entitlements
- Advanced proficiency in Xero, including end to end payroll processing.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliation processes.
- Full Australian working rights are required.
