The Opportunity

We’re currently recruiting for a Payroll Consultant / Senior Payroll Consultant who is collaborative, delivery-focused, and motivated to deepen their consulting expertise, with experience delivering Workday or other payroll system implementations. You will have either strong Australian and/or NZ Payroll systems implementations experience.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in implementing, configuring, and supporting Workday Payroll solutions for our clients. You’ll leverage your expertise in payroll processes and compliance to deliver seamless system integration and high-quality outcomes.

You will partner closely with clients to provide expert guidance, design fit-for-purpose solutions, and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

Implementation & Configuration

- Configure Workday Payroll to align with client requirements and business goals
- Execute system test plans to ensure quality, accuracy, and integrity
- Manage integrations between Workday Payroll and external systems (e.g. finance platforms, third-party providers)

Process Optimisation

- Advise clients on Workday capabilities and recommend best-practice solutions
- Identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements
- Ensure data accuracy and streamline workflows to enhance operational efficiency

Compliance & Reporting

- Ensure payroll processes comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations
- Develop and deliver accurate, timely payroll reporting to support compliance and audit requirements

Troubleshooting & Support





- Identify, analyse, and resolve payroll-related issues within Workday
- Create end-user documentation and deliver training sessions
- Provide post-go-live support and respond to system and process queries

- Adhere to client governance requirements and regulatory standards
- Support organisational priorities and personal development initiatives with your Lead

What You Bring

Core Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field
- Experience in payroll systems implementations in Australia or New Zealand
- Experience partnering closely with HR teams, with a strong understanding of HR processes and payroll operations
- Robust knowledge of Australian or NZ payroll compliance requirements, including tax, superannuation, leave, garnishments, and reporting
- Proficient in using HRIS/payroll systems for day-to-day activities such as data management, reporting, workflow administration, and payroll processing
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and configuring HRIS or payroll systems

Skills

- Experience working across both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders




- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

Nice to Have

- Experience implementing and configuring Workday Payroll solutions
- Workday HCM Functional and/or Payroll certification
