Springvale

People & Culture Manager

Part-Time | Springvale, Melbourne Built on science. Powered by people. Ready for the next phase.

Synergie Skin is an Australian owned, leading manufacturer of skincare for the medical aesthetics and beauty therapy sectors. We are trusted by clinics, dermatologists, beauty professionals and end users across Australia and in more than seven international markets.

From our manufacturing facility in Springvale, we are one of the few genuinely vertically integrated skincare businesses in the country, with manufacturing, quality, R&D;, marketing, sales, finance, education and dispatch all under one roof.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced People & Culture Manager to take ownership of our people function and support the business through its next phase.

The Opportunity

This is a part-time, hands-on People & Culture role with genuine ownership across the full employee lifecycle. You will work closely with the General Manager and leadership team across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, development and broader people initiatives.

But this is not a purely strategic HR role.

A big part of the role is making sure the fundamentals are done properly. That means preparing contracts and letters, maintaining employee records, coordinating recruitment and onboarding, keeping policies current, managing documentation, following up actions and making sure the detail does not fall through the cracks.

You might spend one part of your day advising a manager through a performance issue and the next preparing a contract variation, updating a policy, coordinating an interview or making sure an employee file is complete.

We are looking for someone who enjoys both sides of HR: providing sound advice and improving how we work, while also being happy to roll up their sleeves and keep the day-to-day function organised.

What You'll Do

- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employment changes, performance management and offboarding
- Prepare employment contracts, variation letters and other HR correspondence and documentation
- Coordinate recruitment activity, including job advertising, candidate screening, interviews, reference checks and offers
- Coordinate onboarding and induction for new employees

- Manage employee relations matters, including performance concerns, grievances, disciplinary processes and workplace investigations
- Support managers with performance reviews, development planning and difficult conversations
- Ensure HR policies, procedures and employment practices remain current and compliant
- Coordinate remuneration reviews, benchmarking and employee benefits
- Support learning, development and leadership capability initiatives
- Maintain accurate people data and prepare HR reporting
- Support workplace health, safety and wellbeing requirements
- Identify practical opportunities to improve our HR systems, processes and ways of working
- Work closely with the General Manager and leadership team on broader people and culture priorities

What We're Looking For

- Proven experience in a broad HR or People & Culture generalist role
- Strong working knowledge of Australian employment practices, Fair Work requirements and up-to-date awards
- Experience managing employee relations, performance management and workplace matters
- Strong recruitment and employee lifecycle experience
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills

- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Confidence working independently and taking ownership of the People & Culture function
- Good judgement and the ability to balance the needs of employees with the needs of the business

- Confidence advising and challenging managers when needed
- Strong follow-through and the ability to keep multiple priorities moving
- A practical approach and willingness to get involved in the administrative side of the role

Experience within a growing SME, manufacturing, consumer brand, beauty, skincare or regulated environment would be highly regarded. A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related field is preferred.

How We Work

‘Fit’, how well you connect with our culture, is what makes you thrive here.

We are looking for someone who genuinely operates the way we do, guided by our 5C values.
- Customer-Centricity. You understand that our people ultimately shape the experience we create for our clinics, customers and partners, and you keep that connection in mind when making people decisions.
- Curiosity. You ask questions, seek context and look for better ways of doing things rather than accepting a process simply because it has always been done that way.
- Collaboration. You build trusted relationships across the business and work closely with managers and employees to achieve practical outcomes.
- Clarity. You communicate directly, document carefully and address issues early rather than allowing them to become bigger problems.
- Continuous improvement. You look for ways to strengthen our processes, lift capability and make the people function work better. Mediocrity is not in the Synergie Skin playbook.

The Flexibility

We see this as ideally a four-day-per-week role, but we are open to reduced hours and flexible working arrangements for the right person. We understand that experienced people do not always want, or need, a traditional full-time schedule. We are happy to consider shorter working days to accommodate school pick-ups and family commitments while ensuring the needs of the role and business are covered.

The role is primarily based at our Springvale facility, with the opportunity to work from home one day per week.

Why Join Us?

- Join a growing Australian owned business with an exceptional product range and passionate team
- Take ownership of a broad People & Culture function with direct access to senior leadership
- Work across the full employee lifecycle rather than being limited to one area of HR
- Have the opportunity to improve systems, processes and capability as the business grows
- A genuinely adaptable part-time role suited to an experienced HR professional looking for greater balance
- Work inside a vertically integrated business where every department is under one roof
- Modern, refurbished facilities in Springvale
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience

If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now with your CV and a brief introduction outlining why this opportunity appeals to you.
