Karlayura is seeking Plant Operators to join our on a long-term rehabilitation project at a Tier 1 mining operation in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.

Working on a balanced 7 days on, 7 days off roster. . This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team, develop your skills and gain experience across multiple items of heavy mobile plant.

Karlayura is committed to developing its workforce. Successful applicants will be supported and upskilled throughout the project, providing valuable experience in mine-site rehabilitation and ongoing career development.

About the roles

As a Plant Operator, you will support rehabilitation activities while operating plant safely, efficiently and in accordance with site and project requirements.

Your responsibilities will include

- Operating heavy mobile plant safely and productively
- Supporting rehabilitation earthworks and associated civil activities
- Completing daily pre-start inspections and equipment checks
- Identifying and reporting plant defects and maintenance requirements
- Following project specifications and Supervisor instructions
- Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and environmental compliance
- Participating in pre-start meetings, toolbox meetings and field leadership activities
- Working collaboratively with Supervisors, Operators and other project personnel
- Taking pride in the care and condition of allocated equipment

Preferred experience and tickets Applicants with experience or nationally recognised competencies in one or more of the following machines will be highly regarded:





- Excavator
- Dozer
- Water Cart
- Loader
- Moxy
- Grader

Mandatory requirements

- Current HR Driver’s Licence
- Relevant nationally recognised plant competencies, where applicable
- Police Clearance
- Construction White Card
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening
- Commitment to working safely and contributing positively to the team
- Ability to complete the full 7/7 roster for the six-month project duration

Previous mining, civil construction or rehabilitation experience will be highly regarded; however, applicants who demonstrate the right attitude, a robust safety focus and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Why join Karlayura?
