About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Compliance Ranger or person with exceptional transferable skills looking for a career change.

The position is responsible for the professional, effective and productive delivery of regulatory and environmental enforcement services to ensure activities and practices comply with Local and State Government legislative requirements and approval conditions.

As a Compliance Ranger, you will work across a broad range of compliance and education activities, contributing to the safety, amenity and sustainability of the community. You will respond to community concerns, investigate alleged breaches, gather evidence, provide education and advice, and undertake appropriate enforcement action when required. The role includes matters relating to illegal dumping and littering, erosion and sediment control, water pollution, backyard burning, footpath and road obstructions, unattended vehicles, heavy and light vehicle enforcement, and companion animal management.

Rangers are required to participate in a rotating roster, provide after-hours support when required, and from time to time assist Council during festivals, community events and public safety operations.

About You

We are seeking an individual with previous experience as a Compliance Ranger, Compliance Officer or in a similar regulatory enforcement role.

In addition, you will have:

Essential Qualifications

- Completion of Higher School Certificate or equivalent
- Current NSW Driver Licence

Essential Experience and Skills

- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation in day-to-day situations
- A professional, calm and approachable manner when dealing with members of the public,



even in challenging situations
- Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and make sound decisions with minimal supervision
- Experience and/or confidence in safely handling and managing dogs, including safe capture and transport
- High level of computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems
- Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) and/or Investigations
- Practical experience in Local Government as a Compliance Ranger
- Practical experience working within a culturally diverse community
- SEINS accreditation
- NHVR Authorisation

Your commencing annual salary will range from $80,474.13 to $104,616.37 plus Superannuation , on-call and rotating roster allowances, weekend penalty rates and a leaseback vehicle, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
