About this role
What you'll do
As the Principal Project Officer, you will lead and coordinate branch governance, planning, reporting and executive support functions to drive strategic and operational priorities. You will provide high-quality advice, analysis and recommendations on governance, business improvement and operational matters, while developing and maintaining frameworks, reporting tools and processes that strengthen accountability and support informed decision-making. Working across a range of projects and initiatives, you will contribute to strategic priorities, future-state readiness and continuous improvement, and prepare high-quality briefing materials, reports, presentations and executive correspondence.
You will build strong relationships with stakeholders across the branch, division and department to support collaboration and the successful delivery of outcomes, while identifying opportunities to enhance business processes, improve service delivery and reduce duplication. In addition,
you will support the development of team capability through mentoring and by fostering a positive, cooperative and high-performing team culture.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate complex governance, planning, reporting or business improvement activities within a large and complex organisation.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate options and develop practical solutions.
- Proven ability to develop governance frameworks, operating procedures, reporting mechanisms and business processes that support effective decision-making and accountability.
- Strong written communication skills, including the preparation of executive briefings, reports, submissions, presentations and correspondence.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement, consultation and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
