About Girls from OzGirls from Oz (g-oz) is the charity partner of the Australian School of Performing Arts. Through performing arts programs, g-oz works with children and young people in remote Australia to expand life experiences, build connections and confidence, and create opportunities for those with limited access to high-quality performing arts education.Each year, g-oz delivers 16 week-long Community Programs in remote communities, along with Travel and Reverse Travel Programs.
About the Role
We are looking for an organised, creative and adaptable Programs Assistant (Communications) to join our small and passionate Girls from Oz team. Reporting to the Programs Coordinator, this varied role combines program administration with communications, social media and fundraising support. You’ll help keep our remote programs running smoothly behind the scenes while also sharing the stories and impact of g-oz with our communities, donors and supporters.
Key Responsibilities
- Support travel and logistics for our Community Programs, including flights, accommodation, car hire and Instructor travel information
- Assist with program administration, records, resources, expenses and survey coordination
- Create engaging content across g-oz social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn
- Develop digital and print content using Canva, including social media content, flyers, EDMs and campaign materials
- Maintain the g-oz social media calendar, website news and photo and video libraries
- Write and distribute communications including EDMs, correspondence and media releases
- Maintain donor and supporter information across HubSpot, Mailchimp and donation platforms
- Support annual fundraising campaigns including International Women’s Day and Giving Circles
- Assist with donor, supporter and community communications
- Provide general administrative and project support to the Programs Coordinator and wider g-oz team
Qualities That Will Make You SuccessfulYou’ll be someone who:
- Has strong administration and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Is a confident and engaging written communicator
- Enjoys creating content and has an eye for clear, appealing communications
- Is comfortable working across a range of digital platforms and systems
- Can manage competing priorities and move easily between administrative and creative tasks
- Builds positive relationships and communicates warmly with a range of stakeholders
- Is proactive, adaptable and happy working as part of a small team
- Is motivated by the opportunity to contribute to meaningful programs for children and young people in remote Australia
- Experience with platforms such as Canva, HubSpot, Mailchimp, WordPress and social media channels would be highly regarded.
