About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Director, this fixed-term (6-9 months) role will play a pivotal role in delivering Victaulic's Melbourne relocation project, a key strategic initiative that supports future growth and operational efficiency. As Project Manager, you will lead the planning and execution of the relocation, bringing together people, processes, and resources to ensure a safe and seamless transition with minimal disruption to business operations.
In addition, you will:
- Lead the end-to-end Melbourne facility relocation, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and with minimal operational disruption.
- Develop and manage project plans covering scope, timelines, milestones, budgets, risks, and key deliverables.
- Coordinate all relocation activities including site preparation, fit-out, equipment transfer, installation, testing, commissioning, and operational readiness.
- Manage relocation sequencing, inventory transfers,
utility transitions, and business cutover activities to maintain continuity of operations.
- Apply lessons learned from the Brisbane relocation project to improve project execution, communication, risk management, and operational outcomes.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across Operations, Warehouse, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, HR, IT, Procurement, and Safety teams.
- Manage contractors, vendors, consultants, and service providers to ensure compliance, performance, and project delivery requirements are met.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while developing contingency plans to protect business continuity and customer service.
- Monitor project budgets, expenditures, forecasts, purchase orders, invoices, and maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
- Ensure safety and compliance throughout the project, complete operational handover and project close-out, and capture lessons learned for future relocations.
About You To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Degree qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex relocation, facility transition, capital, operational, or business improvement projects, ideally within manufacturing,
warehouse, logistics, or similar operational environments.
- Strong project planning, scheduling, risk management, budgeting, and contractor management capabilities.
- Proficiency in using project management tools and scheduling software is a plus!
- Proven ability to identify risks, solve problems, and implement practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organisation.
- Hands-on, self-motivated, and proactive, with a flexible approach and a willingness to take ownership of outcomes.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically as required throughout the project lifecycle. Our current warehouse is at Dandenong South, Victoria.
