About the role A Federal Government client is seeking a UAT Officer to support a large ICT-enabled business transformation program.
Working closely with the Program Test Manager, Product Teams, business users and technology teams, you will coordinate User Acceptance Testing activities throughout the project lifecycle and help ensure solutions are fit for purpose before release.
The role has a strong focus on UAT coordination, stakeholder engagement, test preparation, defect management and reporting. UAT test cases are primarily developed by Product Owners, with input from business and project teams. The UAT Officer will prepare these test cases for execution and support business participants throughout the testing process.
The client is open to candidates who have supported UAT as part of a broader Project Officer, Project Coordinator or similar role. Extensive experience as a dedicated tester is not required.
Candidates must be able to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
Key responsibilities
- Engage with Product Teams early in the project lifecycle to prepare for upcoming UAT activities.
- Coordinate the timely delivery and preparation of UAT test cases for execution.
- Work with Product Owners, business stakeholders and project teams to ensure UAT activities are ready to commence.
- Prepare and support business users participating in UAT.
- Coordinate UAT execution and provide support to participants and project stakeholders.
- Monitor testing progress and prepare UAT status reporting.
- Coordinate defect triage, findings and outcomes arising from UAT.
- Liaise with business and technology stakeholders to support defect investigation and resolution.
- Assist the Test Manager with Acceptance Testing plans and broader testing activities.
- Prepare testing updates and participate in Agile stand-ups and other delivery ceremonies.
- Support continuous improvement of UAT processes.
Desirable criteria
- Experience supporting UAT within an ICT project or digital transformation environment.
- Previous experience in a Business Analyst, Project Officer, Project Coordinator, Test Officer, Change Analyst, Implementation or similar role.
- Experience coordinating testing activities involving business users and multiple stakeholders.
- Exposure to defect triage, test execution, implementation activities or testing status reporting.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Experience using Azure DevOps for project, testing or defect management activities.
Skills and experience
- At least one year of experience working within a large and complex digital transformation project within government or a large commercial organisation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to build productive relationships across business and technology teams.
- Ability to translate between business and technical terminology.
- Experience coordinating activities across multiple teams and managing competing priorities.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to keep UAT activities, participants, defects and reporting on track.
- Experience supporting business users through testing, implementation or change activities.
- Strong written communication and reporting skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel.
- Exposure to Azure DevOps or similar project work management and collaboration tools.
