QA Tester / Junior QA Tester

Role Description We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and inquisitive QA Tester / Junior QA Tester to support software quality assurance processes, execute test cases, and help ensure the delivery of high-quality web and mobile applications. In this entry-to-junior technology role, you will work closely with Software Engineers, QA Leads, Product Managers, and UX Designers to identify defects before production releases.

You will be responsible for reviewing technical requirements, writing clear test cases, executing manual test suites, and logging detailed bug reports in tracking systems.

Responsibilities include running regression, functional, UI/UX, and cross-browser/cross-device tests, verifying bug fixes, participating in sprint planning sessions, and maintaining structured test documentation. Success in this position requires a keen eye for detail, strong logical problem-solving skills, basic familiarity with software testing methodologies, and effective technical communication skills.

Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience/coding bootcamp completion).
- Software Testing Foundations: Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and fundamental QA methodologies (e.g., black-box testing, functional testing, integration testing, regression testing).
- Test Case Design & Documentation:



Ability to analyze product requirements and write comprehensive, transparent, and reproducible test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Bug Tracking & Reporting: Hands-on experience or academic exposure to bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla, Azure DevOps, or Trello) with the ability to write precise defect reports detailing steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual results, and severity levels.
- Cross-Browser & Multi-Device Testing: Experience testing web applications across major desktop browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms.
- Web Technology Foundations: Basic understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and browser developer tools (Chrome DevTools) to inspect DOM elements, analyze network requests, and review console errors.
- API Testing Exposure: Basic familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman) to verify RESTful endpoint responses and JSON payloads is an advantage.
- Database & SQL Basics: Fundamental knowledge of writing basic SQL queries (SELECT, WHERE, JOIN) to verify backend data integrity and test database transactions.
- Test Automation Awareness: Basic exposure to or interest in learning automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium) is a bonus.
- Professional Attributes: High attention to detail, strong analytical and investigative mindset, effective written and verbal communication, and a team-oriented work ethic.
