Physiotas is seeking a part-time Receptionist to join the team in a 30-hour-per-week position, with the potential to progress to full-time hours as the role develops. There may also be opportunities to provide additional relief and support across our administration team.

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential. They welcome applications from individuals who are enthusiastic, reliable, organised and eager to learn, with a positive attitude and a genuine interest in developing their skills within a busy allied health environment.

The successful candidate will initially join Physiotas as a Receptionist, gaining a strong understanding of the practice, systems, processes and team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to grow within the organisation, with the potential for the right person to gradually take on additional responsibilities and progress into a more senior administrative or supervisory position over time.

They are looking for someone who demonstrates initiative, professionalism and a willingness to learn, and who is keen to develop their confidence, leadership skills and understanding of the business as they take on greater responsibility.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to establish themselves within a supportive team, develop their career and grow with a well-established Tasmanian-owned physiotherapy practice.

The Position

As a Receptionist at Physiotas, the successful applicant will play an important role in supporting the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the clinics. Responsibilities of the role include:

- Providing a warm, friendly, and professional first point of contact for patients.
- Booking and managing appointments across both Launceston clinics.
- Answering phone calls and responding to general enquiries.

- Managing referrals and coordinating practitioner schedules.
- Processing payments, invoices, and private health fund claims.
- Collecting, maintaining, and securely storing patient information.
- Completing end-of-day banking and balancing procedures.
- Ordering stock and providing administrative support to practitioners as required.
- Handling cash and completing banking tasks accurately and responsibly.

Opportunities for Growth This role is designed to provide an opportunity for the successful applicant to grow and develop within Physiotas. While the position will initially focus on reception and the day-to-day responsibilities outlined above, the right person will have the chance to gradually take on additional responsibilities and develop a broader understanding of the business.

As the successful applicant gains experience and demonstrates initiative, reliability and leadership, there may be opportunities to become more involved in areas such as:

- Supporting and mentoring other reception and administration staff.
- Taking responsibility for specific administrative processes or projects.
- Assisting with staff training and onboarding.
- Supporting the Directors and wider management team with tasks.
- Helping to identify and implement improvements to clinic systems and processes.
- Taking on greater responsibility for the day-to-day coordination of clinic administration.
- Providing additional leadership and support across the administration team.

About You They are seeking candidates with the following qualities:

- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective time management skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment
- Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach to work
- Ability to work effectively within a team, with a willingness to support colleagues
- Confidence to take on new challenges and responsibilities
