YOUR ROLE The Regional Finance Manager sits within the Finance, Infrastructure and Digital (FID) directorate and plays a key leadership role in supporting the financial sustainability of MACS schools. Reporting to the Senior Regional Finance Manager, this role leads a team of Finance Business Partners to deliver high-quality strategic financial advice, insights and business partnering support to Regional and School Leadership Teams. Working collaboratively across primary, secondary and specialist schools, the Regional Finance Manager drives strong financial governance, uplifts strategic financial capability,



and supports informed decision-making to ensure long-term financial stability aligned with MACS’ mission and values.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Effectively lead, manage and support the Finance Business Partners (FBPs), to ensure the delivery of consistent, high-quality financial advice and support to schools.
- Build and maintain strong and credible relationships within Regional and School leadership teams for primary, secondary and specialist schools assigned to this role.
- Provide strategic financial advice and guidance to the regional school leadership (primarily supporting Senior Managers) and Secondary schools leadership positions by delivering proactive, forward-looking insights that support decision making and promote long-term financial sustainability.
- Manage and oversee the core financial activities performed by FBPs and schools with a decentralised finance function, including periodical reporting, cashflow management, annual budgets and forecasts, variance analysis and year-end finance activities for schools, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with organisational guidelines.
- Provide actionable insights for the Region, identify key performance drivers, and highlight risks and opportunities on regional and school financial performance by consolidating FBP insights.
- Oversee and review long-term financial plans for schools, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and supporting financial sustainability.
- Conduct periodic school visits to strengthen stakeholder relations with in-person interactions and discussions with school leadership regarding financial performance and other relevant finance matters.
- Coach, mentor and develop the team, building capability and fostering a collaborative and high-performance

ABOUT YOU

- Ability to lead,



develop and manage a high-performing and collaborative Business Partnering team.
- Expertise in fiscal management with a solid understanding of financial performance and reports. Experience in non-profit and government grants environment preferred.
- Proven capability and experience in proactively engaging and maintaining effective working relationships with the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
- Experience within education or a similar industry in a agile, ambiguous, and changing work environment with ability to influence and inform key stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including high-level presentation, analytical and conceptual skills.
- Proven ability to provide timely and best practice advice to support critical decision-making clearly and concisely.
