Your role at St John of God Ballarat Hospital
We are seeking experienced and passionate Registered Nurses with strong clinical, communication and critical thinking skills to join our Emergency Department team.
Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to a diverse range of adult and paediatric emergency presentations. You will work closely with medical practitioners, specialists and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective and timely care while supporting positive patient outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based emergency care.
The position is offered on a permanent basis, working up to 38 hours per week, with opportunities to develop your emergency nursing skills within a supportive and experienced team. We are also open to part-time opportunities.
The Position
- Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality patient-centred care across a range of clinical presentations.
- Monitor patient progress, review diagnostic results and promptly escalate changes in condition.
- Coordinate care and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Supervise, mentor and support Graduate Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and nursing students.
- Provide patient and family education, discharge planning and ongoing support throughout the care journey.
- Maintain professional, legal and ethical nursing standards while actively contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
Successful applicants will hold current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with patients, families and colleagues. You will be a team player with strong organisational and time-management skills, a commitment to ongoing professional development, and a sound understanding of nursing legislation and infection prevention practices. Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a dynamic clinical setting are essential.

We can offer you
- Salary: $85,480 to $107,881 per annum (pro rata for part time) plus 12% superannuation
- Permanent Part Time position
