Black Swan Health is an independent not-for-profit organisation governed by an experienced and skills-based Board of Directors The Role The Psychologist will be responsible for providing professional, evidence based Psychological Services to people who are referred to Psychology Services via private referrals, Better Access (GP Mental Health Treatment plan), NDIS and other Black Swan Health services. The Clinician will contribute to high-quality care to achieve best outcomes for clients and loved ones.

Key Responsibilities and Growth Opportunities

Day-to-Day Clinical Practice

- Direct Client Care: Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions for clients with varied diagnoses and complex presentations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with referring GPs, internal multidisciplinary team members, and external agencies to ensure seamless care pathways and clear progress reporting.
- Operational Governance: Align clinical practice with organisational Operational Guidelines, Clinical Governance Frameworks, and ongoing Quality Improvement activities.





Leadership & Professional Growth Opportunities

- Peer Leadership: Lead Peer Group sessions to foster a supportive, learning-oriented environment for the broader team.
- Mentorship: Guide and support new clinicians, helping them navigate early-growth opportunities and updates to APS and AHPRA requirements.
- Service Development: Play an active role in shaping the growth of our Family, Children, Couples, and specialised Assessment service arms.
- Continuing Education: Contribute to and participate in internal and external professional development initiatives, clinical presentations, and organisational strategic meetings.

Key Qualifications and Requirements

Essential Criteria

- Qualifications & Registration: Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology with current registration as a Registered or Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Clinical Assessment & Strategy: Demonstrated experience delivering short-term, evidence-based psychological strategies (e.g., using validated tools like DASS or K10) across diverse age groups, including children, youth, and adults.
- High-Quality Reporting: Proven ability to produce detailed, compliant clinical reports for general practitioners, Medicare, NDIS, and external stakeholders (e.g., legal firms, Workers' Compensation).
- Risk & Case Management: Strong capability to monitor and assess clinical risk (including self-harm, harm to others, or acute mental deterioration) while maintaining prompt, confidential, and accurate client records in line with organisational governance.
- Core Workload & Autonomy: Ability to manage a daily target KPI’s with minimal direct supervision while operating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

- Current eligibility to work in Australia
- Current WA driver’s licence and own vehicle for work purposes

Desirable Criteria

- Diverse Funding & Client Streams: Experience navigating funding frameworks including the Better Access initiative, NDIS, private referrals, and Youth Mental Health centres.
- Assessment Collaboration: Background or interest in assessment and collaborative evaluation workflows with primary assessment clinicians.
- Service Expansion: Experience or interest in expanding specialised streams, particularly Family, Children (aged 6+), and Couples counselling services.
- Specialised Assessment Experience: Demonstrated background in administering and interpreting cognitive and adaptive behaviour tools, including ADHD and ASD assessments (e.g., Conners 3®).
