About the Role:

As a Retail Category Manager , you will take ownership of assigned retail categories across Sodexo's national retail portfolio, driving category growth, profitability, supplier performance. Working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, you will develop and execute full category plans across range, pricing, innovation, planogram development and in-store execution.

Candidates with a strong FMCG background is desired, across a you will have the commercial capability and experience to independently manage a category portfolio and deliver results.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute category plans aligned to business objectives, customer needs and operational requirements.
- Manage assigned categories across range, pricing, supplier engagement, innovation and execution
- Analyse category performance and identify opportunities to grow sales, improve margins and enhance the customer experience.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, driving and supporting negotiations, promotional activities and commercial outcomes
- Lead the development and execution of merchandising initiatives, planograms and retail standards across sites
- Monitor category KPIs including sales,



margin, DIFOT and supplier performance.
- Collaborate with operations, supply chain, finance and commercial teams to ensure effective execution of category strategies.
- Identify emerging trends, product innovations and continuous improvement opportunities that strengthen Sodexo's retail offering.

About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Experience in Category Management, Account Management, FMCG, Retail, Buying, Merchandising or Supplier Management environments.
- Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to influence sales, profitability and category performance through pricing, promotions, supplier management and range decisions.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence suppliers and internal teams.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities, using data and insights to identify opportunities and drive results.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities, work autonomously and take ownership in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, action-oriented mindset, coupled with high levels of self-management, accountability and resilience.
- Curiosity, creativity and a genuine passion for retail, products and consumer trends.
- Energy, enthusiasm and a strong drive to deliver exceptional customer experiences and commercial outcomes.

You will bring the commercial experience, capability and confidence to independently manage a category portfolio and influence business outcomes.



Enthusiasm, initiative and a strong commercial mindset are critical to success in this role. Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in Category Management, Account Management, FMCG, Retail, Buying, Merchandising, Procurement or a similar commercial environment.
- Demonstrated success improving category performance, sales growth, profitability or supplier outcomes.
- Experience analysing sales, margin, inventory and market data to identify opportunities and drive results.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, merchandising, promotions and commercial performance drivers
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, finance, commercial teams and external suppliers.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, POS systems and retail reporting platforms.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Retail, Marketing or a related discipline are desirable.
- Ability and willingness to travel to sites as required.
