Talenza is partnering with a leading technology and services organisation delivering critical cyber security capabilities within a government environment.

We're seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join a high-performing team responsible for protecting complex on-premises and cloud-based environments. This is a hands-on role focused on security operations, engineering, vulnerability management, incident response and platform hardening across enterprise-scale infrastructure. Based on the provided position description and hiring manager brief, the role requires experience across security engineering, hardening, monitoring and compliance in government-regulated environments.

What you'll be doing

- Implement and operate enterprise security capabilities across cloud and on-prem environments
- Perform system hardening in line with ISM, Essential Eight and security best practices
- Investigate security alerts and support incident response activities
- Drive vulnerability management initiatives across infrastructure and applications
- Work closely with stakeholders to improve security posture and reduce risk
- Support continuous monitoring, compliance reporting and assurance activities
- Contribute to security tooling integration,



optimisation and remediation programs

What we're looking for

- Experience as a Security Engineer, Security Analyst or Cyber Security Specialist in enterprise environments
- Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux and cloud platform security
- Demonstrated experience with vulnerability management and security operations
- Understanding of incident response processes and security monitoring
- Familiarity with Australian Government security frameworks including ISM, PSPF and Essential Eight
- Experience supporting regulated or highly secure environments
- Exposure to automation, IAM, SIEM or observability platforms will be highly regarded

Essential Requirements

- Australian Citizenship
- Active NV1 Security Clearance
