West End Motor Group (WEMG) is well established and growing automotive group representing a number of leading automotive brands across Western Sydney.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Accountant to join our finance team at our Mazda Head Office in North Parramatta.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in supporting the financial operations of a multi-dealership automotive group.

About the Role

Reporting to senior management, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing key accounting functions across the business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and compliance with relevant accounting and taxation requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

- Preparation and review of monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Month-end and year-end accounting processes
- General ledger management and reconciliations
- Preparation and analysis of financial statements
- Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Cash flow management and reporting
- Accounts payable and receivable oversight
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- BAS, GST, FBT and other statutory reporting
- Assisting with annual audits and external accountant requirements
- Monitoring and maintaining effective financial controls
- Identifying financial trends, risks and opportunities
- Providing financial insights and recommendations to management
- Supporting dealership management with financial and commercial analysis
- Working closely with payroll. HR and operational teams where required




- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, taxation legislation and company policies
- Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems and reporting

About You We are looking for someone who is confident working independently, highly organized and has strong commercial awareness.

You will ideally have:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- CA/CPA qualification or working towards completion (highly desirable)
- Minimum 5 year's accounting experience
- Previous experience in the automotive industry or multi-site workplace (highly desirable)
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting and taxation requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong Excel and accounting system skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
- A proactive approach to identify and resolving issues
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insights
