As a Senior Claims Manager, you'll bring your expertise in life and disability insurance claims to manage a varied portfolio of complex cases while delivering exceptional outcomes for our members.

You'll take a proactive and compassionate approach to claims management, engaging with members and stakeholders to understand their individual circumstances and support them through the claims journey.

You'll work closely with employers, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to gather information, develop action plans, communicate claim decisions and ensure every interaction reflects our commitment to member care. You'll also share your knowledge by coaching and mentoring team members, helping to build capability and foster a collaborative, high-performing team workplace.

As a trusted subject matter expert, you'll identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance operational efficiency and contribute to better outcomes for both members and the business.

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

Responsibilities

Day to day, you'll:

- Manage a diverse portfolio of complex life, disability and income protection claims.
- Develop and implement proactive claims management strategies that optimise member outcomes.
- Engage with members through respectful and effective communication to understand their unique circumstances.
- Collaborate with employers, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to obtain information and progress claims.




- Prepare and communicate verbal and written claim decisions within your delegation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and organisational requirements.
- Prioritise work effectively to meet service expectations and performance objectives.
- Coach and mentor colleagues to strengthen claims management capability across the team.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance member service and operational efficiency.
- Contribute positively to a supportive and collaborative team culture.

Qualifications It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

- You have demonstrated experience in holistic claims management.
- Your background includes managing life, disability and income protection insurance claims.
- You'll have experience working with rehabilitation, early intervention, community services or related health and medical services.
- You're confident managing complex claims and making sound assessments and decisions.
- You can build trusted relationships with members, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.
- Your approach combines empathy, professionalism and strong commercial judgement.
- You'll be comfortable coaching and mentoring others to build capability and confidence.
- You're able to balance competing priorities while maintaining high service standards.




- You hold a relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience, which would be highly regarded.
