RG Mining Consulting is entering an exciting period of growth, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Drill & Blast Engineer who wants to be an integral part of what comes next. This is more than a traditional site-based Senior Engineer role.

You will have the opportunity to help shape drill-and-blast systems and standards across a portfolio of open-pit operations, build and mentor a team, and play a key role in establishing and growing RG Mining Consulting’s Kalgoorlie presence.

At the same time, you will work alongside experienced mining professionals and gain exposure to JORC Mineral Reserves, feasibility studies, strategic Life-of-Mine planning, technical due diligence and project evaluations.

What You Will Do

- Provide technical leadership across open-pit drill-and-blast activities.
- Establish and improve drill-and-blast systems, standards, processes and procedures.
- Remain technically hands-on with drill-and-blast design and relevant mine planning software.
- Develop QA/QC, reconciliation, reporting and blast performance systems.
- Drive improvements in dilution, ore loss, fragmentation, blast movement, productivity and cost.
- Build, mentor and develop junior and intermediate mining engineers.
- Provide technical oversight of drilling and explosives contractors.
- Work closely with geology,



mine planning, production and operational leadership teams.
- Support technical studies, project evaluations and due diligence assignments.

What We Are Looking For

- 5–7+ years of open-pit drill-and-blast experience.
- Open-pit gold mining experience will be looked upon favourably.
- Strong practical capability in drill-and-blast design and relevant mine planning software.
- Experience establishing or improving systems, standards and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC, reconciliation and blast performance analysis.
- Strong understanding of dilution, ore loss and the broader impact of drill-and-blast performance on mine economics.
- A passion for mentoring and developing people.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Confidence working with clients, contractors and senior operational stakeholders.
- An interest in developing your commercial and business capability.
- SSE, Quarry Manager or equivalent statutory mining qualifications will be highly regarded.

Attractive remuneration will apply for the right candidate. Kalgoorlie-based candidates are preferred. Perth-based candidates will also be considered where they are willing to travel regularly to site and spend time in Kalgoorlie as required.
