It is a varied role with scope beyond traditional executive administration. Alongside core executive support, you will coordinate projects, undertake research and analysis, prepare executive correspondence, support policy and administrative processes and help improve the systems that underpin correspondence and information flows across the office.

You will have broad exposure across the department and regular contact with senior staff and external stakeholders. Success will depend on being able to anticipate what is needed, manage competing demands and handle sensitive matters with discretion, accuracy and sound judgement.

What you will do

- Manage day-to-day executive priorities including inbox oversight, meetings, diary coordination and associated administrative and financial support.
- Coordinate projects,

research and analysis and contribute practical solutions and recommendations as issues arise.

- Build productive relationships across the department and liaise professionally and discreetly with senior internal and external stakeholders.

What you will bring

You will have a demonstrated record of success operating at senior executive level, with strong organisation and coordination skills, close attention to detail and the ability to produce clear and accurate written work. You will be comfortable balancing competing priorities, delivering projects and maintaining quality when the pace is high or circumstances change.

Strong interpersonal, oral communication and networking skills are important. You will be able to build trust, work collaboratively, solve problems and influence outcomes while bringing the resilience, reliability, integrity and accountability expected in a senior executive environment.

Previous government employment is not essential.

Experience gained in government or another complex executive setting will be well regarded, particularly where you have worked with senior stakeholders, confidential information or formal decision-making processes. You will need a sound knowledge and understanding of government and ministerial protocols and procedures and the judgement to apply them appropriately, including in politically sensitive matters.

Why consider the opportunity?

This ongoing AO6 position offers a broader mix of work than a conventional executive support role.
