GCP Data Engineer – Data Migration

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced GCP Data Engineer with strong expertise in data migration, cloud data engineering, ETL/ELT, and Google Cloud Platform technologies . The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing scalable data migration solutions from legacy/on-premise environments to GCP.

The role requires strong hands-on experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Python and SQL , along with a solid understanding of data architecture, data modelling, data quality, and migration best practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement end-to-end data migration solutions from on-premise and legacy platforms to GCP.




- Develop scalable and reliable ETL/ELT data pipelines using GCP-native services.
- Build and optimise data pipelines using Google Cloud Dataflow, BigQuery, Cloud Storage and Dataproc .
- Perform data extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation and loading as part of migration initiatives.
- Analyse legacy data platforms and develop appropriate source-to-target mapping and migration strategies .
- Develop complex SQL queries and data transformation logic using BigQuery .
- Develop automation and data processing solutions using Python .

Experience & Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with GCP data services .
- Proven experience delivering data migration projects .
- Strong SQL and Python programming skills.
- Experience working on large-scale enterprise data platforms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
