Location: Sydney, NSW (Onsite Role) Contract: Initial 6 Months + 2 x 6 Month Extension Options Security Clearance: NV1 Required Citizenship: Australian Citizenship Mandatory We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join a high-performing team responsible for designing, implementing, supporting and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure. This is a hands-on role supporting critical ICT operations and infrastructure initiatives within a Federal Government environment.

This is an onsite position based in Sydney, NSW. Applicants must be willing and available to work onsite as required. Candidates seeking remote or predominantly work-from-home arrangements would not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement enterprise network infrastructure solutions.
- Install, configure and maintain network hardware including Cisco switches, routers, wireless access points and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and ensure optimal availability and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents, faults and outages.
- Administer and maintain network security technologies including firewalls, VPNs and associated security controls.
- Perform network upgrades, patching and technology refresh activities.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams and configuration records.
- Provide technical support and advice for network-related issues.
- Ensure network services comply with relevant standards, policies and security requirements.




- Contribute to infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes.

Essential Requirements

- Demonstrated experience configuring, managing, troubleshooting and maintaining Cisco switching infrastructure within enterprise environments.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in IT infrastructure and networking, including:
- IP network design and implementation
- Network troubleshooting and support
- Wi-Fi configuration and management
- Fibre optic infrastructure
- Switching and routing technologies
- Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls

- Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Australian Citizenship (Mandatory).
- Active NV1 Security Clearance (Mandatory).
- Ability to commence immediately or within a short timeframe.
- Must be based in Sydney and available to work onsite as required.

Highly Desirable

- Previous experience delivering network infrastructure solutions as part of an office relocation project.
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology , or a related discipline.
- Experience working within Government or highly regulated environments.
