Senior Property Officer - Commercial
Location: Leichhardt
Contract: 3 months
Hours: 35 hours per week
Rate: $61.36 per hour
Start: ASAP
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Property Officer - Commercial to support the management and development of a local council's commercial property portfolio.
This position will identify investment and income-generating opportunities, prepare commercial and feasibility analysis, and manage property-related projects and agreements. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, developers, commercial tenants, valuers and government authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial property matters, including leases, licences, valuations and property transactions.
- Identify and assess investment and revenue-generating opportunities across the property portfolio.
- Prepare feasibility assessments, financial analysis and comprehensive business cases.
- Develop and coordinate commercial agreements with developers, including Voluntary Planning Agreements.
- Provide specialist advice to property staff regarding leasing and licensing matters.
- Procure and coordinate external property and valuation advice.
- Manage property projects, contracts, budgets, timelines and deliverables.
- Monitor property-related budgets and provide accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for senior management and Council.
- Build productive relationships with developers, tenants, community groups, valuers and government agencies.
- Ensure property activities comply with relevant legislation, policies and governance requirements.
About You To be successful, you will bring:
- A relevant qualification in property, land economics, planning, property development or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing commercial property portfolios.
- Strong knowledge of leases, licences, land classifications, zoning, valuations and property sales or acquisitions.
- Experience developing and implementing commercial investment or income-generating initiatives.
- Solid financial, budget, project and contract management capabilities.
- Knowledge of legislation and regulatory requirements relating to property and asset management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop practical commercial recommendations.
- A current NSW Class C Driver's Licence.
Experience working within local government and property or business valuation qualifications will be highly regarded. A Police Check will be required for this position.
