We’re looking for a Senior Social Media Strategist to join Colony Agency Australia’s growing social and content team.

You’ll work across leading brands in sport, government, FMCG, retail and banking, developing social strategies that connect audience insight, culture, creativity, content and performance.

This is a role for someone who understands social beyond the content calendar — someone who can see the bigger picture, develop the strategic thinking and then help bring it to life across channels.

What you’ll do

- Lead social strategy across key client accounts and campaigns.
- Turn business challenges and audience insights into clear social strategies.
- Develop channel strategies, content pillars, audience journeys and social ecosystems.
- Connect organic, paid, creators, community and content into one approach.
- Use social listening, platform and cultural insights to identify opportunities.
- Work closely with creative, media, production and account teams.
- Lead strategic conversations, workshops and presentations with clients.
- Analyse performance and turn data into actionable recommendations.
- Contribute to pitches, new business and the continued growth of Colony’s social offering.

What we’re looking for





You’ll have 5+ years’ experience in social media or digital strategy, ideally within an agency environment, and:

- Strong knowledge of Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube and emerging platforms.
- A strong understanding of both organic and paid social.
- Experience developing social strategies for major brands.
- Excellent strategic thinking, writing and presentation skills.
- Confidence presenting to and advising senior clients.
- A strong understanding of social culture, creators and changing audience behaviour.
- The ability to turn strategy into transparent, actionable direction for creative and content teams.

Most importantly, you’ll be genuinely passionate about social and curious about where it’s going next.
