Multiple Senior & Lead Software Engineers - Backend focussed

Location : Melbourne & Melbourne, hybrid (3 days per week in office)

THE ROLE

You'll own one or more core components of the core banking platform, driving its reliability, performance, and operational health. You'll sit close to the Engineering Manager and lead engineer, and you'll be expected to have a real voice in technical direction, not just execute someone else's design.

Expect a hands-on mix of writing high-quality code, shaping architecture into practical delivery plans, and raising the bar for the engineers around you through review and mentorship.





YOUR CORE CAPABILITIES

- Strong hands-on background in Java and Spring Boot , with real exposure to Cloud (GCP preferred but not a major requirement) and NoSQL
- Solid grip on microservices and event-driven architecture, and the judgement to know which pattern fits which problem
- Track record designing and shipping APIs for critical, large-scale systems
- Working knowledge of security practices around financial transactions and payments
- Experience leading incidents through to resolution, calmly and methodically
- Comfortable using AI tools as part of the day-to-day build process
- A natural mentor, someone other engineers learn from in code review
- Core banking, payments, or cards experience is a bonus, not a requirement
