The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. About the role:

Reporting to the Managing Principal Solicitor, Legislation, the Senior Solicitor will support the Legislation Team in the development of primary and subordinate legislation, preparation of Ministerial correspondence and Governor in Council briefings, and provision of legal advice across the health, ambulance services, mental health and ageing portfolios.

About you:

- Experience providing high-quality legal advice on administrative law, statutory interpretation and legal policy matters.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across government and with external stakeholders.
- Experience in legislative development or government legal practice will be highly regarded.
- Hold (or be eligible to hold)



a current practising certificate under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (Vic)
- Ideally have a minimum of five years' post-admission experience
