An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Systems Administrator to join a large enterprise infrastructure environment and play a key role in a significant virtualisation migration project.

The immediate focus of the role will be the migration of approximately 400 virtual machines from VMware ESXi to Microsoft Hyper-V. You will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end migration lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, testing, implementation, rollback preparation and post-migration validation.

Alongside the migration program, you will provide senior-level administration and support across enterprise Windows Server, virtualisation and backup environments spanning on-premises infrastructure and cloud-hosted platforms.

You will be responsible for:

- Leading the technical delivery of a large-scale VMware ESXi to Microsoft Hyper-V migration.
- Planning migration waves, coordinating dependencies, testing, implementation and rollback activities.
- Providing senior-level administration, patching, upgrades, monitoring and support across enterprise Windows Server environments.
- Administering and supporting VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V and Veeam Backup & Recovery environments.
- Supporting infrastructure hosted across on-premises, AWS and Azure environments.
- Investigating and resolving complex Level 3 incidents and problems across Windows Server, virtualisation, backup, performance, availability and security.
- Managing incidents, problems, changes, releases and implementations through ServiceNow.




- Working closely with application owners, project teams, technical support teams and external vendors to coordinate technical delivery and resolve issues.
- Engaging with vendors including Microsoft, Veeam, VMware/Broadcom, AWS and Azure where required.
- Providing technical advice across virtualisation, Windows Server, backup and recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring and security.
- Developing and improving technical documentation, operational procedures and support standards.
- Providing technical guidance and knowledge transfer to operational and project teams.

You will have solid senior-level experience in enterprise infrastructure environments, with hands-on expertise across:

- Windows Server administration
- VMware ESXi / vSphere
- Microsoft Hyper-V
- Veeam Backup & Recovery
- Enterprise virtual machine environments
- Large-scale infrastructure or VM migration projects
- Level 3 infrastructure troubleshooting and support
- Incident, problem, change and release management
- ServiceNow or a similar IT service management platform

Experience delivering VMware to Hyper-V migrations at enterprise scale will be highly regarded. Experience across Azure and/or AWS, high availability, disaster recovery and complex enterprise or government infrastructure environments will also be advantageous.
