Why this role exists

We're expanding into Brisbane, and our Practice Lead needs an experienced senior accountant who can carry real technical weight without being managed line by line. This isn't a leadership role: it's a senior technical one. You'll own your own portfolio, mentor the people coming up behind you, and work closely alongside the Practice Lead, not instead of them.

We work with SME and private group clients across healthcare and a broad range of other industries: relationships built over years, not churned through a pipeline. What you'll own

- A portfolio of SME and private group clients end to end: income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals, done properly, not rushed




- Senior-level review support on month end and year end work, working alongside the Practice Lead to keep quality and turnaround tight
- Direct ATO dealings on your clients' behalf: assessments, payment arrangements, penalty and interest remission, rulings, audits and objections
- Technical guidance and mentoring for the accountants coming up behind you
- Direct, regular contact with the Practice Lead and partners on the technical and client work that actually matters

What you bring

- CA/CPA qualified, operating at a senior level
- Deep technical grounding across GST, CGT, FBT, Div 7A and Australian tax law more broadly
- The judgement to own a portfolio and manage competing deadlines without someone checking your work
- A genuine track record of developing people, not just supervising them
- The confidence to talk directly to clients and the Practice Lead alike
