Service Technician – Cleaning Equipment
Western Sydney
Are you mechanically minded, practical, good at fault finding and looking for a hands-on role where you can learn new skills?
Hyjien provides specialist cleaning equipment, parts and service solutions to the food production industry. We’re looking for a practical, customer-focused Service Technician to join our small Western Sydney team.
This is a wide-ranging role working both in our workshop and at customer sites. You’ll diagnose faults, service and repair equipment, deal directly with customers and help keep their operations running.
What you’ll do
- Diagnose, service and repair pumps, valves, solenoids, switches and associated cleaning equipment
- Carry out workshop and onsite repairs and preventative maintenance
- Liaise with customers about repairs, replacements and upgrades
- Plan service appointments and manage your workload efficiently
- Complete service records, including parts and labour
- Assist with warehouse, stock, pickups and deliveries when required
- Travel to regional and interstate customer sites
The role includes overnight/interstate travel and some weekend or after-hours work when required. No prior experience with the specific equipment we service is required — Hyjien will provide full training. What matters most is mechanical aptitude, practical problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
What we’re looking for
You don’t need to be a qualified tradesperson or have experience with our specific equipment. We’re looking for someone who has:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and enjoys understanding how things work
- Good fault-finding and practical problem-solving skills
- Some hands-on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, maintenance or similar experience
- The ability to work autonomously and organise your own jobs
- Good customer service and communication skills
- A current driver’s licence
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Flexibility to travel and undertake occasional weekend or after-hours work when required
Experience with pumps, valves, solenoids, food or beverage equipment, engineering, a forklift licence or Business Central would be advantageous, but is not essential.
What’s on offer
- Variety and autonomy – a hands-on role combining workshop work, field service and direct customer interaction.
- A role where you can make an impact – join a small, practical team where your contribution is valued and you can take real ownership of your work.
- Be part of a growing specialist business – work closely with an experienced team and contribute across the broader operation
We’re a small, hands-on team, so we’re looking for someone who is adaptable, takes ownership and is happy to pitch in wherever needed — whether that’s servicing equipment, helping in the warehouse or making a delivery.
Hours of work:
Full-time, 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
- Some weekend and after-hours work will be required depending on customer needs
If you enjoy fixing things, working independently and having plenty of variety in your day, we’d like to hear from you. Apply now with your CV.
