Do you care deeply about inclusion and community? Do you have lived experience of disability or a strong connection to the disability community? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

JFA Purple Orange is looking for a SKILL SA Network Connector to join our team and support a peer network based in Whyalla for people with disability.

This role is part of ourSKILL SA project, which supports people with disability to build confidence, grow their networks and strengthen their voices through peer support and self-advocacy.

About the role:

- Help facilitate a peer network in Whyalla for people with disability
- Co-hosting monthly peer meetings and workshops
- Using you own lived experience and local knowledge to create welcoming inclusive spaces
- Collaborate with the SKILL SA team to co-design resources, identify barriers and contribute to policy and advocacy efforts
- Work alongside our existing SKILL SA team across the state

We are looking for someone who:

- Has lived experience of disability
- Is passionate about inclusion and community engagement
- Feels comfortable leading group conversations
- Knows their way around basic digital tools (email, Word etc)
- Has strong connections in the Whyalla disability community

This role is casual, around 6 hours a week. A valid NDIS Worker Screening or ability to obtain one (with support from the organisation) is essential.

If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

To request a copy of the full role description please contact Andrew Gibson [email protected] or Alice Hyde [email protected]

We expect a person to grow into the role, developing with the network, and not be performing all duties from the start. The Role Description can look overwhelming at first, but don’t worry: Lived experience, a passion for advocacy and transferable skills are high in the list of criteria we look for in candidates. The desirable criteria can be developed progressively.

Please click 'Apply Now' and submit your resume and cover letter. Applications close Noon on Monday 21 September. We may contact applicants before the advert closes.
