Deep Speak is offering a unique full-time opportunity for a qualified Social Worker who wants to intentionally build their mental health practice experience while working towards eligibility for Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) accreditation.

Rather than trying to piece together the right experience, supervision and professional development across different roles, this position is designed to give you the opportunity to develop your clinical skills within an established private mental health practice while receiving structured support along the way.

Depending on your experience and scope of practice, you will have opportunities to develop skills in areas including:
- Mental health assessment and clinical formulation
- Treatment planning and review
- Focused Psychological Strategies
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Psychoeducation and skills development
- Trauma-informed practice
- Anxiety and mood presentations
- Grief, adjustment and life transitions
- Neurodivergence and emotional regulation
- Clinical documentation and qualified report writing
- Working collaboratively with GPs and other health professionals

You'll also gain something that can be difficult to develop outside of private practice: an understanding of how high-quality psychological therapy is delivered within a professional private practice environment.

Who we're looking for

You may be a great fit if you:
- Hold a recognised Social Work qualification and are eligible for AASW membership
- Are specifically interested in pursuing AMHSW accreditation
- Want to build a career providing therapeutic mental health support
- Have a genuine interest in counselling, psychotherapy and evidence-based mental health interventions

Previous counselling or mental health experience will be highly regarded, but we are particularly interested in finding someone with the right foundation, values and commitment to becoming an excellent clinician.

About Deep Speak

Deep Speak is an established private mental health practice providing psychological therapy to people experiencing a broad range of mental health concerns.

Our clinicians work therapeutically using evidence-informed approaches including CBT, ACT, DBT, Schema Therapy and EMDR, with particular experience in trauma and complex mental health presentations.

We believe excellent clinicians continue learning throughout their careers, which is why supervision, professional development and reflective practice are important parts of how we work.

This isn't a role where you'll simply be given a caseload and expected to figure everything out yourself.
