As Manager Social Work, you will provide advanced clinical social work services as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across the hospital.
This is an exceptional leadership opportunity for an experienced clinician who is passionate about driving excellence in social work practice. As the discipline lead, you will provide professional and clinical leadership, mentor and develop team members, and champion evidence-based practice, quality improvement, patient satisfaction and caregiver engagement.
In this rewarding role, you will:
- Deliver comprehensive social work assessments, interventions and support to patients, families and carers with complex psychosocial needs.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing Social Work team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement.
- Provide advanced clinical consultation, advice and support to medical, nursing and allied health professionals.
- Promote integrated, multidisciplinary care approaches to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Drive service development, quality improvement initiatives and the implementation of evidence-based practice.
- Act as a skilled role model, demonstrating advanced clinical expertise, sound clinical judgement and compassionate leadership.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of Social Work services, ensuring alignment with divisional strategic priorities and the delivery of consumer-centred care.
- Ensure effective workforce planning and roster management to meet service demands and maintain high-quality service delivery.
- Utilise advanced clinical knowledge and experience to evaluate, enhance and innovate Social Work services.
- Provide specialist social work interventions in complex practice areas,
including Child Protection, Family and Domestic Violence, and Elder Abuse.
- Apply evidence-based outcome measures, patient feedback and quality assurance activities to monitor and improve service effectiveness.
- Prioritise, coordinate and delegate caseloads appropriately for both self and supervised staff.
- Promote professional values, ethical practice and compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
- Maintain and apply contemporary knowledge of social work research, evidence-based practice and emerging developments in healthcare.
This position is ideal for a highly skilled Social Worker with solid leadership capability, advanced clinical expertise and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care within a values-driven healthcare organisation.
Essential Requirements
You will hold a tertiary qualification in Social Work and be eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). You will bring demonstrated advanced clinical experience and proven leadership within a highly specialised area of social work practice in a healthcare setting, with the ability to provide expert clinical guidance, lead service excellence, and support multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate the ability to develop, lead and inspire high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous professional growth. You will also have proven experience in initiating,
designing and implementing research and quality improvement initiatives that drive service excellence, support evidence-based practice and enhance patient and organisational outcomes.

What we can offer you
- Salary: $153,175 to $161,610 per annum pro-rata basis, plus 12% superannuation
- Permanent full-time position, working 38 hours per week
