Who are Morrisons?

Morrisons is an award-winning criminal and traffic law firm with offices located in Wollongong and Campbelltown. We represent people charged with all types of criminal and traffic offences in the Local, District and Supreme Courts throughout New South Wales.

We are the only private law firm in the Illawarra, South Coast and Southern Highlands regions with three Accredited Specialists in Criminal Law, as recognised by the Law Society of New South Wales.

Our Team

Our team is made up of six solicitors and dedicated support staff. Three of our solicitors have been consistently recognised in Doyle's Guide as Recommended and Leading Criminal Lawyers in Regional NSW and across Australia.

Your Skills and Experience

We are looking for applicants:

- Who are newly admitted or within the first few years of practice.
- A genuine passion for criminal and traffic law.
- A robust commitment to developing advocacy skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team,



including with Junior and Senior Counsel.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to a range of clients from diverse backgrounds.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work across both our Wollongong and Campbelltown offices as required.

The Role

This position offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced criminal lawyers and develop advocacy skills, whilst being provided mentorship and support.

The role will involve

- Appearing in the Local and Children's Courts for mentions, bail applications, sentences and defended hearings.
- Appearing in the District Court in appeals and instructing counsel in trials and sentence proceedings.
- Working on complex criminal cases alongside senior solicitors.
- Drafting legal submissions, court applications and correspondence.
- Meeting with clients and assisting them through all stages of the criminal court process.
- Managing your own practice with the guidance of senior solicitors.
