Sous Chef - The Rocks Taphouse | Sydney Airport T2

About the Role SSP Australia is seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join the exciting new opening of The Rocks Taphouse at Sydney Airport Terminal 2 on a full-time basis.

Located within the brand-new The Rocks Precinct, The Rocks Taphouse will be a vibrant destination for travellers, combining great food, drinks and hospitality in a lively airport setting.

Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help lead the kitchen team and oversee the delivery of consistent, high-quality food throughout service. You’ll support daily kitchen operations, team development and food safety while maintaining a positive and efficient kitchen environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Sous Chef who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and wants to be part of a brand-new venue from opening day.

What skills and experience are we looking for?

- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role
- Certificate IV or higher in Commercial Cookery (Essential)
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (Essential)
- Experience leading, supporting and developing a kitchen team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and WHS practices
- High standards of food preparation, presentation and consistency
- Strong organisation, time management and communication skills
- A positive, energetic and can-do attitude with a passion for hospitality
