About the role
You'll provide evidence-based, person-centred speech pathology services to NDIS participants and other community clients across the lifespan, with a strong focus on functional communication, social participation, and quality of life. You'll work closely with participants, families, support workers, and other allied health professionals to deliver practical, goal-focused interventions in homes, clinics, schools, and community settings.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, communication, and swallowing assessments.
- Develop and implement individualised therapy plans aligned with participant goals and NDIS plans.
- Work collaboratively with families, support coordinators, support workers, and other clinicians.
- Provide training, coaching, and practical strategies to build capacity in the participant's support network.
- Complete clear, timely progress notes, reports, and NDIS documentation.
- Adhere to professional, ethical, and organisational standards and policies.
- Provide therapy in clinic, home, school, telehealth, and community environments.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and trauma-informed service culture.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology.
- Current membership or eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Current AHPRA registration is required at the time of commencement.
- Experience or strong interest disability, or community-based practice.
- New graduates are welcome to apply for this position.
- Sound clinical reasoning and commitment to evidence-based practice.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with participants and families.
- Person-centred, strengths-based, and culturally responsive practice.
- Willingness to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Commitment to ongoing learning, reflective practice, and quality improvement.
