About the role

You will lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of First Nations Foundation's Men's Training portfolio - ensuring our programs are culturally safe, trauma-informed and grounded in the lived experience of First Nations men and boys.

A central focus of the role is to consult with First Nations men and youth in community to co-design and develop of a Financial Fitness program tailored to their needs taking into account the unique experiences, responsibilities, cultural perspectives and barriers that can shape how men engage with money.

While men's training is your core portfolio, you will be expected to actively support delivery across FNF's broader programs - including the two-day Train the Trainer model, Financial Fitness workshops, Youth Programs, Culture and Money programs and Financial Wellness Outreach events - as part of a small national trainer team.

This is an active, outward-facing role suited to someone who enjoys being on the road and working directly with community. You will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, manage delivery partnerships, and contribute to content updates, facilitator resources and impact reporting.

Duties & responsibilities

Program leadership, consultation and development

- Consult closely and authentically with First Nations men and youth to shape the creation of the Men's Financial Fitness program. This will also include consulting and working with community organisations.

- Lead the co-design and development of FNF's Men's Financial Fitness program (men and boys), including curriculum, facilitator guides, session plans, participant resources and evaluation tools.

- Ensure program content and delivery approaches reflect cultural perspectives, strengths-based storytelling and practical money skills that are relevant to men's roles, responsibilities and lived realities.

- Design and deliver adapted program streams for justice settings (including prisons) and for drug and alcohol rehabilitation services, including liaison with host sites, access requirements, risk management and duty of care.

- Provide updates on the progress of the Men's Financial Fitness program and communicate with the Team Leader about any changes in the project timeline, consultation outcomes and program development needs.

- Contribute to continuous improvement across FNF's programs by identifying what is and isn't working in the room and translating insights into practical content updates.

Workshop facilitation and delivery

- Deliver in-person men's training across urban,



regional and remote communities, creating culturally safe spaces for yarning, connection and learning.

- Deliver and support delivery of FNF's two-day Train the Trainer program (youth and community cohorts) and other Education & Outreach programs as required.

- Support Financial Wellness Outreach delivery by assisting with on-the-ground coordination, participant support, referrals and follow-up activities.

- Promote free access to FNF's online My Money Dream modules and other resources to strengthen learning beyond workshops.

Partnerships and community engagement

- Build and maintain strong relationships with men's groups, schools, youth services, correctional services, rehabilitation services and Aboriginal community-controlled organisations to enable safe and effective delivery.

- Represent FNF at community events and with key stakeholders, strengthening trust and identifying new opportunities for program delivery.

Project management and reporting

- Work collaboratively within the Education & Outreach team to plan, schedule and deliver projects, including travel coordination and delivery logistics.

- Contribute to project reporting, funding acquittals and internal updates, including regular reporting to the Team Leader and Executive team.

- Support the development of proposals and scope documents for men's training opportunities, including budget inputs and delivery plans.

Monitoring, evaluation and impact

- Ensure participant and impact data is collected ethically and consistently across sessions (including in higher-risk settings) and communicated to relevant internal and external stakeholders.

- Contribute stories of change, case studies and impact narratives that reflect community voice and outcomes.

Culture and Money training delivery (corporate partners)

- Deliver FNF’s Culture and Money training to corporate and government partners (in-person, online and hybrid), creating culturally safe learning that strengthens understanding and improves service outcomes for community.

- Share lived experience through story-based learning (yarning, scenarios and case studies), while maintaining explicit boundaries and psychological safety.

- Tailor sessions to partner needs (e.g. banking, super, insurance), and keep delivery aligned with FNF standards, values and learning outcomes.

- Contribute to ongoing improvement of training resources using participant feedback and evaluation results.

Work health and safety and cultural safety

- Maintain high standards of physical safety, cultural safety and professional boundaries, including working in environments where participants may disclose trauma or complex circumstances.

- Follow FNF policies and safeguarding practices, and escalate incidents and risks appropriately.





- Other duties as required.

Experience, Skills and Attributes:

- Significant experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities, including facilitating in-person learning in culturally safe ways.

- Demonstrated experience working with First Nations men and boys, building trust, managing group dynamics and creating safe spaces for yarning and learning.

- Program development experience - including consulting, co-design, curriculum/resource development, piloting and continuous improvement.

- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

- Strong reporting and project management skills.

- Experience working with participants in correctional settings and/or in the drug and alcohol rehabilitation space (or closely related human services settings) is highly desirable.

- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, duty of care and professional boundaries.

- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while travelling.

- Confidence talking about money and facilitating conversations about budgeting, debt, saving, superannuation and financial systems (training provided as needed).

- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills across community, service providers and corporate/government partners.

- Digital communications skills (e.g., using online tools for coordination and participant support).

Education:

- Equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation across community development, education, youth work, justice, social services or related disciplines.

Compliance:

- A Working with Children Check (or ability to attain) is a mandatory requirement for this role.

- National Police Check (or ability to attain) may be required, particularly for delivery in justice and rehabilitation settings.

- Ability to obtain relevant site clearances/inductions for prisons, correctional facilities and rehabilitation services as required.

- As this is primarily a work from home role, you will need access to a safe and confidential workspace and a reliable internet connection.

- A current driver's licence and ability to undertake regular travel (often interstate) is essential.
