Technology Services Lead
Lead secure, reliable and modern technology services that help Council deliver for our community.

Are you an experienced technology leader who enjoys solving complex problems, improving services and helping people get the best from technology?

Hepburn Shire Council is looking for a Technology Services Lead to coordinate the delivery, support, security, reliability and continuous improvement of Council's information technology services and environments.

In this hands-on leadership role, you'll provide technical oversight across service desk operations, business applications, cloud and on-premises infrastructure, networks, cyber security, telecommunications and end-user computing. You'll also guide our Technology Support Officer and work closely with vendors, managed service providers and teams across Council.

Position Details

- Permanent full-time
- Salary: From $114k per annum
- Working hours: 38 hours per week
- Location: Daylesford, with occasional travel to other locations (Hybrid)
- Reports to: Manager Technology and Customer Experience

About the Team

You'll join the Technology and Customer Experience department within the Performance and Transformation directorate. The team supports reliable day-to-day operations while contributing to Council's broader modernisation and service improvement priorities.





How You'll Make a Difference

- Lead and continuously improve ICT operations, service desk practices and technology service performance.
- Coordinate cloud, infrastructure, networks, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.
- Act as the escalation point for complex Level 2 and Level 3 support issues and major incidents.
- Support secure and well-managed business applications, patching and technology environments.
- Lead cyber security controls, vulnerability management, remediation and technical recovery activities.
- Develop the technology roadmap and recommend infrastructure, application and investment priorities.
- Manage technology vendors and service providers, including contracts, service levels, procurement and performance.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and workflow coordination to the Technology Support Officer.

About You

We're looking for a technology professional with broad experience across infrastructure, cloud platforms, networks, cyber security, applications and service delivery in a complex workplace.

You'll bring strong technical knowledge, practical operational leadership and sound judgement, along with the ability to coordinate complex incidents, competing priorities, technical resources and service providers.

You'll also have:

- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure,



networking and cyber security practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical matters clearly.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
- A tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Current Victorian Driver Licence and ability to obtain a satisfactory National Criminal History Check.

Desirable: ITIL Foundation or equivalent, Microsoft Azure/Microsoft 365 or cyber security certifications, and local government experience.
