Technical Writer - Mining & Decarbonisation
Location: Perth
Employment Type: Contract - 12 months
PERSOL is currently seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join a major resources organisation, supporting its Decarbonisation project portfolio.
This Perth-based role will focus on developing and managing the approval of technical documentation for new mobile equipment and infrastructure, ensuring assets are ready to be safely operated and maintained when handed over from Projects to Operations.
The Role
Working within the Asset and Maintenance Readiness function, you will develop high-quality technical documentation in collaboration with subject matter experts and manage documentation through the review and approval process.
You will work closely with project managers, project engineers, completions and commissioning teams, asset and materials management teams, site planning and maintenance teams, OEMs and equipment vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop technical documentation including Safe Work Instructions (SWIs), checklists and procedures with input from subject matter experts
- Submit technical documents for review and approval
- Amend and update documentation following stakeholder review and feedback
- Track and report on the status of technical documentation
- Follow up with relevant stakeholders and expedite document approvals where required
- Work collaboratively with project, engineering, commissioning, asset management, materials management and site operations teams
- Engage with OEMs and equipment vendors where required to support technical documentation development
About You
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Technical Writer within a mining operations or maintenance environment
- Experience working with Document Management systems
- Strong knowledge of document management processes and systems
- Project Management knowledge
- Tertiary qualification - Trade or Degree
- Valuable communication and influencing skills
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight timelines
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Ability to self-manage and work with minimal supervision or direction
- Strong planning and scheduling capabilities
