Are you an experienced Database Analyst who enjoys optimising critical data platforms and helping organisations get the most from their data? Join our Infrastructure team and play a key role in supporting, modernising and enhancing enterprise database environments that underpin business operations across the organisation.
Working within our IT function, you'll be responsible for managing database platforms, improving performance, supporting business-as-usual operations, and contributing to ongoing data platform maturity and cloud transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage internal and external data feeds to ensure reliable data availability.
- Administer and maintain database platforms and associated schemas to support secure, efficient access to organisational data.
- Provide database performance tuning, automation, scripting and best practice recommendations.
- Plan and implement system upgrades and enhancements to improve service continuity and user experience.
- Develop implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures to support operational reliability.
- Partner with vendors and stakeholders to resolve incidents,
minimise downtime and support ongoing platform improvements.
Skills and experience:
You'll bring:
- Demonstrated experience in Database Administration, ideally with 5+ years in a similar role.
- Advanced T-SQL skills and strong SQL Server administration expertise.
- Experience with SQL Server high availability and disaster recovery technologies, including Always On Availability Groups, replication, backup and recovery.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft data technologies, including SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS and Power BI.
- Experience working with cloud-based database solutions, particularly Microsoft Azure SQL Managed Instance environments.
- Exposure to Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics and modern data integration practices, including ETL and ESB frameworks.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Microsoft certifications will be highly regarded.
