About Capital Design Works
Capital Design Works designs, manufactures and installs premium custom joinery and gaming environments for clubs, pubs and casinos across NSW, QLD and VIC. We run a 3,500 sqm manufacturing facility in Padstow and deliver end-to-end projects from design through to installation. We're adding a Factory All-Rounder to support our Production Manager and keep the floor running clean, organised and ready.
The role
This is the glue role on our factory floor. You're the person who makes sure everything is where it needs to be, when it needs to be there — parts staged for assembly, jobs kitted and ready, trucks packed properly, work areas explicit, and stock findable. You'll work directly with the Production Manager and dispatch team. It's hands-on, varied and vital — no two days the same. This is not a bench or trade role, and there's no office admin grind — it's a practical, on-your-feet job for someone who takes pride in an organised workplace.
What you'll be doing
- Moving parts, pallets and finished product between machining, the pallet store, assembly benches and dispatch
- Kitting and staging jobs so assembly teams and installers have everything ready before they need it
- Helping pack and load trucks for delivery and installs (correct packing, protection, load order)
- Keeping the factory clean, clear and safe — waste out, aisles clear, tools and materials back where they belong
- Finding and retrieving stock, offcuts and hardware; helping keep the pallet store organised and labelled
- Backing up receiving — unloading supplier deliveries,
checking goods in, putting stock away
- General support to the Production Manager: prep, setup, and whatever keeps the floor moving
What success looks like in 90 days
- Assembly teams stop stopping to hunt for parts — jobs arrive at the bench complete
- Trucks are packed right the first time, and dispatch isn't a bottleneck
- The pallet store is organised so anyone can find anything
- The Production Manager trusts you with a list in the morning and finds it done by the afternoon
Must-haves
- Physically fit and reliable — this is an active role with lifting and constant movement
- Well organised with a genuine eye for detail (things labelled, stacked, protected properly)
- Self-starter who sees what needs doing without being told
- Clear communicator, happy taking direction from the Production Manager
- Forklift licence (LF) — or willing to obtain quickly (we'll support this)
Highly regarded
- Forklift experience in a factory or warehouse setting
- Background in removals, furniture delivery, dispatch, shopfitting, joinery or events/staging — anywhere you learned to pack a truck properly and protect finished product
- Experience with kitting, picking or stores work
- Driver's licence (MR licence a bonus)
Pay and hours
Full-time, permanent, Monday to Friday, based in Padstow. $30–$34 per hour + super depending on experience.
How to apply
