Your new role
As a Scam Monitoring Officer, you will monitor, identify and investigate potentially fraudulent or scam-related activity. You will use your analytical skills and attention to detail to recognise suspicious patterns, take the appropriate preventative action and ensure all incidents are accurately recorded.
- Monitoring scam calls, SMS campaigns and suspicious usage activity
- Identifying and blocking scam messaging campaigns
- Adding phishing URLs and phone numbers to relevant blacklists
- Investigating call patterns to determine whether activity is fraudulent
- Monitoring high-volume scam call activity and excessive usage alerts
- Taking appropriate action to prevent potential customer usage fraud
- Maintaining accurate records of scam campaigns and actions taken
- Preparing and distributing daily scam activity reports
- Responding to notifications and reports received from other service providers
- Supporting compliance with relevant legislation, policies and industry codes
- Identifying opportunities to improve existing monitoring and prevention processes
- The shift pattern for this position is 5pm to 10pm, with evening and weekend availability required.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong analytical and investigative skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to identify unusual patterns
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently and make considered decisions
- A collaborative and consultative working style
- The ability to remain resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- A commercial and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
- The ability to quickly understand relevant legislation, regulations and policies
- Previous experience within fraud, scams, risk, compliance, telecommunications or a monitoring environment will be highly regarded
What you'll get in return

- Applicable overtime rates of up to $55.22 per hour plus super
