APX Civil Pty Ltd is seeking a Civil Machine Operator / Truck & Dog Driver to join our team on a casual basis. We are looking to fill multiple positions. This is a hands-on operational role based in Coomera, QLD 4209, where you will play a vital part in the delivery of our civil construction projects. As a Civil Machine Operator or Truck & Dog Driver, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery and transporting materials and equipment to site, ensuring projects run smoothly and safely. This role is essential to maintaining our high standards of quality and safety across all our construction operations.
Key responsibilities
- Operate civil machinery including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders and other heavy plant equipment in accordance with site specifications and safety requirements
- Conduct pre-operation checks and maintenance inspections on all plant and equipment before use
- Transport materials, equipment and personnel to and from construction sites using truck and dog combinations
- Load and unload materials and equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of machine usage, fuel consumption and maintenance requirements
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors, foremen and other team members to ensure coordinated and safe operations
- Adhere to all health, safety and environmental regulations on site
- Assist with site setup and breakdown as required
What we're looking for
- Valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) driver's licence with proven experience operating truck and dog combinations
- Current and relevant civil machinery operation tickets or certification (such as SOA's/VOC's accreditation or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience operating civil construction machinery in commercial or industrial environments
- Solid understanding of health, safety and environmental protocols specific to construction sites
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced construction environments
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with supervisors and other team members
- Physical fitness to perform manual handling and repetitive tasks
- Reliability and punctuality, with a strong safety record
- Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol screening and other statutory checks as required
