About the role

The Product Manager is responsible for building, managing, and improving transport service products that enable customers to send parcels through domestic and international distribution networks. The role defines product propositions across B2C, B2B, clearance options, delivery speeds, lanes, destinations, markets, service features, operational rules, customer requirements, and technology enablement, documenting and managing all of this information in product specifications. The role translates customer and market needs into structured transport products, ensuring the required operational capability, vendor services, IT functionality, commercial logic, data visibility, clearance processes, and service governance are in place to support reliable, scalable, and profitable parcel distribution. This is a management role suited to a commercially minded logistics and product professional who can connect customer propositions with transport network capability, vendor service offerings, operational processes, and digital customer enablement. A significant part of the role is the ability to engage, influence, and persuade senior executive stakeholders within DHL and external supplier organisations, building confidence in product direction, securing alignment on priorities, and gaining support for commercially and operationally sound decisions.

Key responsibilities

- Define and maintain the transport product roadmap across domestic and international parcel distribution, including B2C, B2B, clearance products, lanes, markets, delivery options, returns, and value-added service features

- Translate customer, market, operational, regulatory, and commercial needs into explicit product definitions, service specifications, eligibility rules, pricing logic, transit time commitments, routing options, clearance requirements, and customer-facing features

- Engage confidently with DHL executive stakeholders and senior supplier representatives to present product direction,

influence decisions, resolve competing priorities, and secure endorsement for product, commercial, operational, and technology outcomes

- Lead the development of business requirements, user stories, process flows, data requirements, acceptance criteria, and business testing to enable customers to access and use transport products through digital platforms, integrations, portals, labels, manifests, tracking, and reporting tools

- Engage with carriers, linehaul providers, customs brokers, injection partners, last-mile delivery partners, and other vendors to match available network services to product requirements and identify gaps requiring commercial, operational, or technical solutions

- Build and govern product capability for specific markets, destinations, lanes, service levels, clearance models, delivery options, and customer segments

- Assess product economics, cost-to-serve, margin impact, vendor rates, surcharges, clearance costs, operational handling costs, customer pricing inputs, and volume assumptions to support viable product decisions

- Coordinate product launches and changes across sales, operations, customer service, IT, finance, commercial, compliance, and vendor teams, ensuring readiness plans, training, documentation, controls, and support processes are in place

- Monitor product performance using volume, revenue, margin, transit time, delivery quality, scan compliance, clearance performance, exception rates, customer experience, and vendor performance measures

- Lead improvements to product functionality, customer experience, operational efficiency,

service reliability, digital enablement, and market competitiveness
